Brief Introduction of Lu’an Injection Coal    

 Lu’an injection coal, lean coal and meager lean coal of low ash, low sulfur, high fixed carbon, high calorific value, good grind quality and good combustibility, is the ideal material for mixed injection or separate injection and it has national quality standard
    Lu’an injection coal has achieved a great success after five-year research and market development. The project of “Lu’an coal for blast furnace injection technology development and application” was awarded Top Grade Award of Science and Technology by China Coal Industry Association and China Coal Society.
    Lu’an injection coal is very popular among customers both at home and aboard, especially in some large domestic steel corporations, such as Egang Group, Shougang Group, Ma’anshan Steel International Trade & Economic Corporation, Xingtai Iron & Steel Co., Ltd., Wuhan Iron and Steel (Group) Co., Japan and Spain. It not only increases efficiency and diminishes the production cost, but also improves the steel quality and market competitiveness.
    Presently, Lu’an is building “China Lu’an Injection Coal Base”. It can supply 5-8 million tons of high quality injection coal annually.

Coal Products Introduction

Traffic
    Lu’an Group has an ascendant geographical location and convenient communication. Taiyaun-Jiaozuo railway and Handan-Changzhi railway go through the mine area and 208 national highway, Taiyuan-Changzhi, Changzhi-Handan expressway and 309 national highway are connected with the mining area. It is very convenient for coal exporting by railway or highway.

Type of Coal
    Lu’an is exploring the 3# coal seam, Shanxi section of the Permian system. The main types of coal are lean coal, meager lean coal and meager coal.

Categories of Coal Products
    At present there are four categories of coal products: mixed coal, washed coal, injection coal and washed lump coal.

Coal Quality Feature:
    The coal quality feature can be summed up as two-low, two-high and two-good.
    Two-low features: Low Ash, Ash Content of washed coal Ad＜9.50%, Ash Content of injection coal Ad＜11.00%; Low     Sulfur, Total Sulfur St,d＜0.50%
    Two-high features: High Calorific Value, Qnet.ar＞6300t/kg; High Ash Fusibility, St＞1450℃.
    Two-good features: Good Grind ability, Hgi＞80; Good Thermal Stability, Ts+6＞9.

Main usage:
    Mixed coal is mainly used in industries of power, power generation, ceramic, glass, cement, calcium carbide and so on.
    Washed coal is qualified coking coal.
    Injection coal is mainly used in industries of blast furnace, coking, cement, ceramic, glass, calcium carbide and so on.
    Washed lump coal is mainly used in industries of engine, boiler, chemical, cement, ceramic, glass, calcium carbide and so on.

Customers:
    Lu’an has more than 500 users in 17 provinces and cities in mid-south, east, north, mid and northeast of China. They are also exported to Japan, Korea, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Philippine, India and many other countries and areas. The products receive favorable comments.

Honors of the Products
    Mixed coal, washed coal and washed lump coal are awarded to Symbolic Famous Products of Shanxi province, Famous Product of Shanxi province and High Quality Product of Shanxi province, and evaluated by China Quality Inspection Bureau as National Quality Inspection Quality Trusted Product, National Quality Trusted Product and National Quality Service Customer Satisfied Enterprise in three consecutive years and the products are evaluated by China Quality Association as National Quality Satisfaction Product in three consecutive years.

Information about the Coal Preparation Plants
    All the five coal mines have their coal preparation plants matched with their output capacity. The designed output of the preparation plants is 10.60 million t/a. The practical output is over 13.50 million t/a in 2002. The output capacity of the establishing Tunliu Coal Mine in 2003 is 6 million t/a and Sima Coal Mine is 20.02 million t/a.
